The archive now has a structured intake manifest for the current Wikipedia works list: sources/steinmetz_bibliography_manifest.json.

The archive also has a priority official-source expansion manifest: sources/official_source_intake_manifest.json. This registers the newly requested source wave across books, edition variants, AIEE papers, HathiTrust targets, institutional archives, and the patent corpus.

This is a control layer, not a claim of completion. Wikipedia states that Steinmetz wrote 13 books and 60 articles and held over 200 patents; the public bibliography and patent examples are therefore starting points. Every newly added source must still pass through raw-file custody, OCR, page mapping, equation extraction, diagram extraction, concept tagging, glossary candidates, and scan verification before public claims are marked reviewed.

The archive now also publishes a generated source-text browser for all currently processed chapter and section text. It gives broad reading coverage immediately while keeping OCR/PDF text visibly separate from corrected, scan-verified editions.

The generated book coverage atlas adds a source-by-source layer above the individual text pages. It shows every processed book section, counts candidate equations, figures, quotes, concepts, and glossary hits, and links each row back to the source-text and chapter-workbench pages.

The generated reading routes layer adds a humane entry system above the full corpus: first-hour reading, source-only reading, AC symbolic method, transients and surges, field language, mathematics, diagrams, apparatus, and patent routes. It is built from the same source metadata, so it improves discovery without weakening the academic structure.

The generated chapter workbench adds the next research layer: every processed section now has a page that links the source text to theme snippets, concept and glossary hits, equation candidates, figure candidates, quote candidates, and the promotion checklist needed before a claim becomes canonical.

The generated concept concordance adds a cross-source reading layer: 77 curated terms and concepts can now be traced across all processed sections, with direct links back to source text and workbench pages.

The generated theme evidence atlas adds a charter-critical evidence layer: nine research themes gather source-located hits for ether and field language, magnetism and hysteresis, dielectricity and capacity, impedance and reactance, symbolic AC method, transients and surges, waves and radiation, energy, and apparatus.

Four newly requested public Internet Archive sources are now OCR-seeded and participate in generated source text, book coverage, chapter workbench, concept concordance, and theme evidence pages:

  • Theory and Calculation of Alternating Current Phenomena (1897 edition).
  • Theory and Calculation of Alternating Current Phenomena (1900 edition).
  • Theory and Calculation of Electric Circuits (1917).
  • Elementary Lectures on Electric Discharges, Waves and Impulses, and Other Transients (1914 revised and enlarged edition).

High-priority queued works that still need primary scan/PDF custody include:

  • On the Law of Hysteresis for the hysteresis-law foundation.
  • Complex Quantities and Their Use in Electrical Engineering for symbolic AC analysis.
  • The Natural Period of a Transmission Line and the Frequency of Lightning Discharge Therefrom for line surges and lightning frequency.
  • Lightning Phenomena in Electric Circuits for destructive high-voltage transients.
  • The General Equations of the Electric Circuit and its later continuation for general circuit equations.
  • Mechanical Forces in Magnetic Fields for field force, stress, and pressure/tension language.
  • Theory and Calculation of Electric Apparatus for machine, transformer, and apparatus theory, now OCR-seeded for candidate processing.
  • Frequency Conversion by Third Class Conductor and Mechanism of the Arcing Ground and Other Cumulative Surges for arcing-ground and nonlinear surge behavior.
  • Charles Proteus Steinmetz Papers at Union College and the Charles Proteus Steinmetz Collection at Carnegie Mellon as archival sources, not yet public transcriptions.
  • The patent corpus, which should become a full patent-to-theory bridge rather than a loose patent list.

These sources now have Internet Archive OCR text and generated candidate catalogs under processed/. They are not scan-reviewed yet.
